1.    General information; what is skin microneedling

Skin needling, also referred to as Dermarolling, Micro-needling or Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), is a therapy that stimulates wound healing process to produce new collagen and elastin and therefore, reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and stretch mark. This technique is also applied to improve skin texture and tighten pores. By introducing active ingredients into the deep skin tissue at higher absorption rate, skin needling is applied to treat hyper-pigmentation (brown spots), active acne skin and alopecia as well.

Skin needling devices are commonly roller or stamp which has numbers of fine and sharp needles. Those needles create numerous microscopic channels which provides clean and fast routes for active ingredients in medical or cosmetic solutions, and the micro-scale wounds in the skin initiate new collagen and elastin production; the skin becomes thicker, plumber and more youthful.

The epidermis is the out most layer of the skin, acting as the body’s major barrier against an inhospitable environment. It is the thinnest on the eyelids at 0.05mm and the thickest on the palms and soles at 1.5mm.

Genosys Beauty Roller (0.25mm) penetrates the epidermis but not blood vessels or sensory nerves as shown in the following diagram.

All needle sizes can stimulate wound healing process to develop new collagen and elastin on different levels. Home user roller (0.25mm) stimulates collagen induction but at a slower rate than clinical or medical roller.

Most cosmetic ingredients have obstacles to penetrate into the skin layer because of its physical size and characteristics. For instance, vitamin C is hydrophilic and skin surface is hydrophobic. Generally speaking, only less than 1% (0.03~1%, moisturizer) of active ingredients can reach the deep skin layer (dermis) and 99% of cosmetics get wasted. Even highly expensive cosmetic with encapsulated ingredients in liposome (vehicles) has 1~3 % absorption rate. Using microneedling before and/or after cosmetic application can increase the absorption up to 50%. The sufficient nutrients supplied into the skin tissue by skin needling can reverse aging process.
2.    Genosys Beauty Roller; Diskneedle Therapy System
Genosys brand was established by the world top microneedling device producer, DTS MG. Co., Ltd. (Seoul, Korea). Genosys Beauty Roller is designed by Diskneedle Therapy System (DTS) that guarantees painless and effective treatments.
Each Genosys Roller has nine (9) disks. Each disk has sixty (60) needles. Unlike other devices, those needles are on a whole disk. Needles can’t fall from the device.
Genosys Beauty Roller has the most numbers of needles on the device therefore the most micro-channels (holes) can be created in the same amount of time. As the device has more needles than others, the needles can be thinner without being damaged when inserting into the skin. Moreover, its diamond shape needles minimize the pain of needling.

3.    GENOSYS at-Home Treatment; How to Use

One session every day or every other day
PREPARATION: Use on perfectly cleansed, make-up-free skin. You may wipe your face with a cotton pad moistened with a disinfectant solution.

SPRAYING: Spray Genosys Revitalizing Hydro Mist over the whole face (5 to 6 sprays).
ROLLER: Open the roller blister and remove the protective cap. This device is sterile during its 1st use and should be cleaned afterwards by placing it under running hot water or putting it in a bath of disinfectant solution. * Do not soak the roller head over 10 minutes in any type of solution.
ΓΌ  TIP Roll the rotating head over the face using very light pressure. The pressure will depend on the thickness and sensitivity of the skin. The ideal pressure may cause a little transitory redness, proof of the effectiveness of the procedure, but it should never cause bleeding. To assess it, you can test the Roller on the back of your hand and gradually increase the pressure each day, according to how the skin reacts. Avoid contact with the eyes and lips.

SPRAYING: Spray the Revitalizing Hydro Mist once more after using the roller on the face. Leave the solution to be absorbed by the epidermis (upper layers), without spreading it or tapping with fingertips. You may feel a fleeting stinging sensation which will gradually fade.
TO FINISH:  At the end of the session, apply Genosys Nano Serum or your regular night cream. Cleanse the Roller head and place the cap back onto the roller head properly to protect the needles.
Precautions for use
Do not combine this program with any other potentially irritating or sensitizing skin care routine. Use only on healthy skin, free from even the slightest lesion (acne, herpes, eczema, skin break-out, mole, etc). Handle the roller with care and never use excessive pressure.
SOOTHING Apply a moisturizing / soothing skin care cream such as Genosys Nano Cream (HSC) at the end of the protocol.
The needles will become blunt after several treatments. This depends on how often you roll, how long the needles are, how large the skin areas are. Replace Genosys roller head or buy a new Genosys Roller if the needles don’t smoothly penetrate into the skin.
4.    Important Notice
q  Avoid sweating and sun exposure, artificial heat, hot sauna for 24 hours after the treatment

Hansderma, Inc. and Skin Microneedling

My name is Shana Han. I established Hansderma Inc. (California, USA) and I work as global business development manager for DTS MG and several other Korean manufacuters in medical aesthetic and cosmetic industry.

The first time I learned about Skin Microneedling (also called derma-needling, meso-rolling and etc) was in 2007. One of corporate customers I met through my former job at Medy-Tox (Seoul, Korea) has introduced me to this new concept while I was visiting Hong Kong for a vacation.

[Cosmoprof Hong Kong 2007]

The rollers were so fascinating to me. Without involving with all the hassles and controversy of using injectables or other medical treatments, these small device were so great to improve a wide range of skin problems.

I visited Hong Kong, Shanghai and other cities to attend major medical meetings, tradeshows and private workshops to learn more about the industry and this device. And I started working as a freelancer to develop distributionship of a microneedling device product.

However, I decided to go back to school at the end of 2007 and moved to the USA. I could work only part-time to manage small size dealers for a meso-roller called CTS Roller.

[Diskneedle Therapy System, 2009]

In 2009, I got a phone call from Korea, and my business friend introduced me to a brand new microneedling company, DTS Lab (Former DTS MG). I got really excited to have an opportunity to be a part of the team. DTS invented a totally new concept!!!

Unlike all other conventional rollers, DTS Rollers have more needles and other unique characteristics that will solve many problems that kept many from enjoying its benefits; safety and pain issues. It also made it possible to do mass production to scale-up the business.

 [DTS Vibrating Roller 2009]

I was so certain that this device will be successful. However, I was still new to this device. I wasn't experienced with field sales or demonstration. I demostrated and performed treatments and see dramatic improvements on the models' faces. I grew my confidence and started to do everything that I needed to introduce and let other people understand how it works.

[Private Workshop, 2010]

In 2009, we introduce DTS rollers at Cosmoprof in Las Vegas. The response was flame-hot! I couldn't take a moment to rest throughout the entire show. In 2010, we returned to Las Vegas and showed our rebranded rollers as GENOSYS along with skincare products.

[Cosmoprof North America 2010, Las Vegas]

I travelled to many different cities including San Francisco, New Orleans and New York City to present DTS Rollers. Currently, DTS MG is the world top manufacturer for microneedling devices and developed a complete brand line with a wide range of cosmetics.

In 2011, I established Hansderma, Inc. (California, USA) and started to distribute GENOSYS beauty rollers and skincare products to physicians and estheticians.

In 2012, DTS continued to introduce unique devices including eye roller. It's the world smallest and finest needling device that can treat hard-to-reach areas.

Currently, DTS and Hansderma together present GENOSYS products at major medical meetings and tradeshows including Americain Academy of Dermatology Annual Meetings.
