What is growth factor and why do we use them for Skin? EGF? FGF?

What is Growth Factor (GF)?

Our bodies produce various protein to communicate between cells. Growth factors are simply a name for those proteins that deliver the messages and communicate from cells to cells.

We communicate via letters, phones, emails and texts. Cells deliver messages through proteins.

Those proteins that tell cells to grow, proliferate and differentiate are called "Growth Factors" and there are uncounterable types of Growth Factors.

Why do we use GFs for skin?

Most common skincare ingredients are plant/flower extracts, chemically synthesized compounds and nutrients (such as HAs, Vitamins, and so on).

These ingredients are good for skin but if your skin cells are not actively using those ingredients, it won't make any difference.

When GFs arrive to your cells, they bind to cell surface and activate your cells to start working. They are like letters from the boss telling the cells, "Skin Cells, start working! repair! repair!". When the skin cells are activates, the cells will finally take in the nutrients from skin care products or from your diet in order to repair and rejuvenate.

Your cells won't use those nutrients unless they are told to do so. GFs are the activators for your skin cells.

Hansderma offers GF Complex for clinical use. GF Complex contains EGF / FGF and other nutrients that are most essential for skin.

Main ingredients & Functions
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF): accelerates healing, increases the rate of skin renewal on aging skin. Directly stimulates the proliferation of epidermal cells (stronger and healthier skin surface).

Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF): stimulates fibroblast synthesis to create new collagen and elastin to help firm, smooth, increase moisture content, tone skin texture, and increase "snap-back" value. enhances wound healing process and regeneration time frame. play a role in new blood vessel formation to strengthen microcirculation to speed up healing time and the skin renewal process.

Copper peptide (GHK-Cu): Can be effective against skin irritation, mainly due to their anti-inflammatory effect, during and after cosmetic treatments. optimize healing and improve skin remodeling after controlled skin injury procedures. several controlled facial studies confirmed anti-aging, firming and anti-wrinkle activities. Significant improvement of skin laxity, clarity and appearance, reduced fine lines.

Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7: significantly increase skin elasticity, firmness and tone.

Vitamins: Vitamin C, E, B2, B3, B5, B6, H, K

Hyaluronic Acid (HA): provides essential cellular lubrication, enhances transport of cell communication and migration and delivery of active ingredients. supports healthy cell function. helps skin retain its moisture.
